Diana Ketler
Diana Ketler was born in Riga into a well-known family of musicians. She gave her debut at the age of 11 under the baton of Vassily Sinaisky.
She studied at the Latvian Academy of Music, at the Mozarteum Academy in Salzburg and at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Diana appeared as a soloist with the Salzburger Kammerphilharmonie, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Südwestdeutsches Kammerorchester, the Riga Chamber Orchestra, the Georgisches Kammerorchester and the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra.
She performed extensively in Britain (South Bank Centre, Wigmore Hall, Buxton Festival, Chichester Festival, etc.), Austria, Germany, Belgium, Canada, the Netherlands, Russia, Lithuania, Romania, Japan and Latvia.
Her engagements included performances at the Gstaad Musiksommer Festival, Ravello Music Festival, St-Gallen Musikfestival, Carinthischer Sommer, Tartini Festival.
Diana gave recitals in at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, the Glenn Gould Studios in Toronto, the Tokyo Opera City Hall, the Osaka Symphony Hall and other prestigious venues.
Her recent chamber music partners are Wolfram Christ, Konstantin Lifschitz, Daishin Kashimoto, Adrian Brendel, Baiba Skride, Inga Kalna, Lesley Garret and Marlis Petersen.
As a member of ensemble raro she regularly tours Europe and Japan.
Diana gave a number of British premieres of the works by contemporary Baltic composers and collaborates close with Peteris Vasks, Arvo Pärt and Karlsons.
In 2003 Diana was appointed professor in the Keyboard Department at the Royal Academy of Music in London. She gave masterclasses in Spain, Czech Republic, England, Romania and Japan.
Since 2004 Diana is artistic director of the Chiemgauer Musikfrühling Festival in Bavaria, Germany.
Her last CD, Songs and Dances of Life, was released last year in Munich and Bucharest.
